The topic for James Annaswamy in this debate is,''WHY AM I A CHRISTIAN AND NOT A MUSLIM"". And the topic for APYEM is,"WHY AM I A MUSLIM AND NOT A CHRISTIAN".

James has been the first writer and his opening statement is available HERE

THIS IS OUR RESPONSE TOGETHER WITH THE OPENING STATEMENT.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ,

RESPONSE TO HIS ARTICLE:

James' opening statement, included the below quote shows that my opponent has already begun to dismantle his faith for us:

"So if He may wish to lead the humans to Himself, then definitely He will choose only one path because He cannot be of the double standards being Most Holy in nature …"

This statement is a problem because the Bible presents two forms of Salvation. That being of works and faith, the other of mere faith. This dichotomy, falsifies the premise of James and therefore leads to a false conclusion. Since James has claimed that God should only have one path of leading mankind and the Bible presents two [Exodus 19:6, James 2:14-26] forms of salvation. Therefore James' opening statement, has concluded for us that his religion is wrong. We thank him for that. Good job.

James then went on to make this claim:
[Both the Islam and Christianity believes that a man is a sinner from birth. We all possesses a sinful nature by birth in ourselves]

However this is not an Islamic belief. I ask that James try to be intellectual responsible and refrain from being fraudulent. Islam does not state that man carries sin from birth, but that man is prone to, or has the innate affinity towards doing evil or fulfilling one's nafs {desires}, see Qur'an Surah Yusuf, Ayats 51 to 53. James however has claimed that Islam states from those ayah that humans are sinners from birth and not that they have an inclination towards sinning. So we're kindly asking him to prove to us from those three aforementioned ayah, the former statement rather than the clearly explicit latter statement.

Note: We hold the assertion that James is an intellectual fraud. He is claiming:"Islam and Christianity agree that man is a sinner from birth".Whereas now he claims that man isn't a sinner but rather inclined through freewill to sin:

"As what Joseph, the man of God speaks that every soul is inclined to do the evil.."

So he has therefore presented a dichotomy and a false one at that. He has presented two different views, the question begs itself, according to James, is man a sinner (i.e. he has acquired sin) at birth or at birth is he inclined towards sinning. One of these two is not like the other and we'd like him to present his case in an intellectually responsible manner, rather than combining two different doctrines.James then went on to make this claim:
"As I argued before that its illogical to suppose that a Holy God may ever accept any sort of sinfulness or unholiness."

We don't disagree with this statement, that God is happy that we disobey Him, however God is happy for us to repent, to use our freewill through which He gave us, to realise our mistakes and to then repent, as Jesus has indicated within the Christian scriptures and of which Islam places great emphasis as well:

"But any that (in this life) had repented, believed, and worked righteousness, will have hopes to be among those who achieve salvation." Qur'an 28:67

Beginning with the Old Testament, we see that the doctrine of faith and works is what God has commanded [Shemot 19:6], where the God of the OT has commanded people to repent:

"He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil." Job 36:10

Jesus himself mentions the importance of repentance from sin, and not mere blind faith that one has salvation 53 times in the New Testament:

The onus is on James to show where Jesus negates these 53 statements into only promoting blind faith.James then went on to make this assertion:

"Even in the Mosaic law as well sins used to be forgiven by the blood sacrifices which the High priest had to perform every year. This was mere the shadow of Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross. [Isaiah 53:4-12]"

Yet there exists a problem with this statement:

(1) Was blood sacrifice the only means of forgiveness of sins or has the God of the OT lied in Job 36:10?

(2) If God sent Jesus to die for the sins of the world, then why will most of the world go to hell [Matthew 7:13]? Does that not mean that Jesus' sacrifice was inadequate to recompense for all of mankind's ill doings?

(3) Why does God say He will judge us by deeds in the Bible [2 Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:13] if Jesus salvaged us from our sins?

(4) If salvation means, "to be free from sin and the punishment from sin", then why is the world still sinning, why do Christians still sin. Since they sin, does that mean they do not have salvation, taken in light of the very definition of the term?

(5) Where does it say in the Bible that one has to merely believe in the death and resurrection and crucifixion of Jesus to gain heaven as evidence from the Bible demonstrates merely believing that Jesus existed is sufficient for salvation [Acts 16:10-31, Acts 15:10-11].

(6) If Jesus died for the sins of the world and this is the ultimate form of Salvation, then why can't Jesus' blood recompense/ absolve/ forgive the sin of Mark 3:28-29, his blood sacrifice was a failure as it could not account for all sins.

We await the response of our Christian counterpart who chose to insult and abuse us when posting his note:

[or any of his fag may kindly write a response to me and then I will counter reply .. Thanks ..James Selvaraj Annaswamy]

While we understand that James, has a need for belittling others due to his illusory superiority and due to his hidden homosexual tendencies, we'd like to inform him, we are not like the other Christians that are homosexuals or fags as he put it. We do not condone such actions and while we are sure he loves fags, we ask him to keep his sexual preferences to his bedroom.

Thank you.
wa Allahu Alam.

APYEM'S OPENING STATEMENT

Why I am a Muslim and not a Christian:

My argument will be centered around one of my previous premises (though there are several other themes on which we can ponder):

"If Jesus died for the sins of the world and this is the ultimate form of Salvation, then why can't Jesus' blood recompense/ absolve/ forgive the sin of Mark 3:28-29, his blood sacrifice was a failure as it could not account for all sins."

Whereas the Qur'an ensures us forgiveness from all sins:

"Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." Qur'an 39:53.

In fact, the Qur'an tells us exactly what we need to attain salvation {freedom from sin and the punishment of sin} in the very second Surah of the Qur'an:

"This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful." Qur'an 2:2-5.

The Qur'an sums up what a Muslim needs to attain salvation within 4 ayats {lines} in the Qur'an. A fully comprehensive description of what entails one to salvation in Islam in the very second Surah. Nowhere in the Bible is this stated and nowhere in the Bible is there a God which forgives all sins.

The very fact that Allah is willing to forgive me, is more than enough to trump the God of the Bible who seems unable to forgive blasphemy, even by the death of Himself.

The troubles for Christendom don't end there! A conflict upon early doctrine presented itself with Paul and modern Christians versus James and Peter:

"When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray." Galatians 2:11-13.

Here we see three disciples of Jesus were teaching the wrong beliefs about Christ, namely, James, Peter and Barnabus. So much so that James' epistle has caused problems for Christians for centuries:

"We now come to a part of this epistle which has appeared to some eminent men to contradict other portions of the Divine records. In short, it has been thought that James teaches the doctrine of justification by the merit of good works, while Paul asserts this to be insufficient, and that man is justified by faith. Luther, supposing that James did actually teach the doctrine of justification by works, which his good sense showed him to be absolutely insufficient for salvation, was led to condemn the epistle in toto, as a production unauthenticated by the Holy Spirit, and consequently worthy of no regard; he therefore termed it epistola straminea, a chaffy epistle, an epistle of straw, fit only to be burnt. Learned men have spent much time in striving to reconcile these two writers, and to show that St. Paul and St. James perfectly accord; one teaching the pure doctrine, the other guarding men against the abuse of it." [Adam Clarke Exegesis, James 2:14]

Whereas in Islam, we don't have this issue as Qur'an 39:53 makes it clear of how far reaching God's mercy is. However in Christianity the very question of salvation throws many questions in addendum to what was already asked:

(1) If belief is all that is needed for salvation, why didn't Jesus preach it?

(2) If the God of Islam can forgive all sins, but the God of Christianity cannot, then why believe in a God that cannot be fully merciful towards us?

(3) Is James right, or is Paul right?

(4) If James or Paul is right, then why did Paul argue over this doctrine with Peter and Barnabus?

Many other reasons exist which make me a Muslim and stop me from becoming a Christian and here is the short list of such things:

1. By saying I am a Muslim, I mean I have submitted my will to almighty. Ask James doesn’t he submit his will to almighty.

2. If Jesus was a Jew then why should I be a Christian.

3. The bible we have is a corrupted book. (Even Newton pointed it out and wrote the book titled,” An Historical Account of Two Notable Corruptions of Scripture”)

4. Most of the books of bible don’t have any known author. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Matthew#Authorship_and_sources,

5.There are lots of chronological errors in the gospels.
(e.g 1:  In Matthew 4:5-8 the Devil took Jesus to the pinnacle and then to the mountain, while in Luke 4:5-9 he took him to the mountain and then the pinnacle. 2:  In Matt. 21:12-19 Jesus cleansed the temple and later cursed the fig tree, while in Mark 11:13-15 he cursed the fig tree and later cleansed the temple. 3:  In Matt. 8:28-32 Jesus caused devils to enter swine and later called Levi (Matt. 9:9), while in Luke 5:27-28 Jesus called Levi and later caused devils to enter swine (Luke 8:26-33). 4:  In Mark 1:12-13 Jesus was tempted in the wilderness and later John was arrested (Mark 6:17-18), while in Luke 3:19-20 John was arrested and later Jesus was tempted in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-13).5:  In Mark 2:13-17 Matthew was called by Jesus and later the tempest was calmed (Mark 4:35-40), while in Matt. 8:18, 23-27 the tempest was calmed and later Matthew was called (Matt. 9:9-17). 6:  In Matt. 8:1-4 Jesus cleansed the leper and later healed Peter's mother-in-law (Matt. 8:14-15), while in Mark 1:29-31 Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law and later cleansed the leper (Mark 1:40-44). )

    6. Not to forget the ‘n’ number of scientific errors in the bible. (e.g Two different creation accounts, both contradicting science and both contradicting each other,)

    7. Jesus’ sacrificing is a good joke which God made out of us. He got Jesus back after alleged resurrection, then how is it a sacrifice.

    8. Pornography, Incest, Rape, Murder are common biblical features.

    9. Begetting is an animal act and Christianity makes me associate it with God.

    10.  Allah swt in Quran clearly chooses for us the religion and names it ISLAM while we don’t find God naming any religion CHRISTIANITY in any religious scripture.

    11.  Allah swt in Quran clearly calls Quran by the name QURAN while no such thing is present with the bible.

    12.  Allah swt every now and then repeats the concept of TAWHEED in the Quran but we don’t find the word TRINITY in the bible, leave its description aside.
